According to details, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) conducted an operation near Wapda Town By-pass in Gujranwala on Friday on intelligence reports that eight terrorists are present in the area during which the militants opened fire.
The CTS sources said that five terrorists were killed by firing of their own accomplices while the remaining three managed to escape from the scene.
The CTS sources further said that the dead terrorists belonged to a banned outfit and were planning to carry out terrorist attack in Gujranwala. Explosive material, hand grenades and other arms were also recovered from their possession.
