Ayaz Sadiq on Saturday announced that he would challenge his de-seating by the election tribunal in the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
“I respect and accept the decision of Justice Kazim Malik, but we have some reservations,” Sadiq told media persons in Lahore after the verdict.
“I have spoken to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif by phone and consulted with him about the party’s position on the issue,” he said.
The tribunal, in its verdict, has held the election machinery responsible for irregularities, he noted. “We have, therefore, decided to go to the Supreme Court against the verdict,” he added.
To a question, he said that Deputy Speaker would now decide about the resignations of MQM.
