The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) on Thursday submitted a 734-page forensic report to the election tribunal in a case pertaining to alleged rigging in NA-118 constituency of Lahore.

According to report, 49,132 votes have been verified through thumb impression while 65,793 votes are unverified.

The report further states that thumb impressions of only 27,333 voters out of 163,000 could be matched with electoral rolls and counterfoils.

On April 29, election tribunal had directed Nadra to verify thumb impressions of voters in NA-118 constituency.

It may be mentioned here that PML-N candidate Riaz Malik had won election from NA-118 during 2013 general elections.

The decision of his victory was challenged by runner-up candidate Hamid Zaman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
