Three convicted prisoners have been hanged till death separately in jails of three Punjab cities early Saturday morning.
Convicted killer, Rashid Muneer, was sent to gallows in Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat jail at this daybreak. The assassin shot to death two persons—Khalid and Imtiaz—in 1991.
Rashid’s death warrant was issued in 2012. His family met him yesterday.
In Multan also, a death house inmate, Abdul Ghaffar, was executed at the city’s central jail in today’s wee hours.
Sahiwal’s central jail also witnessed a death row prisoner, Wazir Ali, breathe his last at the hangman’s halter early this morning.
Meantime, a convicted assassin, Salim, got reprieve as the aggrieved side approached the magistrate with the deal document at the eleventh hour.
Salim killed his cousin in 2004.
