Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan addressed a rally on Wednesday in Bannu and criticised the government along with his political rivals including Prime Minister(PM) Nawaz Sharif and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman and Akram Durrani.

Referring to the Panama Leaks issue, he said that both the government and opposition will mutually decide about the Terms of References (TORs) of the investigation commission. He stated that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) needs to fulfill its duty in this regards and that it is the responsibility of the NAB chairman to carry out transparent investigation of the matter. He said that accountability can be carried out within the period of a few weeks as NAB has the authority which no other institution of the country has.

He stated that a few days ago Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif addressed a rally in Bannu in a tent with members of other political parties. He said that PM Nawaz needs to tell the people about his assets and where they are located. He stated that he has come to Bannu upon being challenged by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Akram Durrani.

He said that if the leader of a country is corrupt, it affects the entire system of that very country. He stated that countries like Singapore and Malaysia progressed as their leaders took bold steps to wipe-out corruption from their countries. Khan added that while other counties of the world were progressing, Pakistan headed towards decline.

Khan stated that corruption in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) decreased during the current provincial government s tenure. He added that Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said that $200 billion is present in foreign banks, if given the opportunity, he shall bring the money back in the country and shall introduce the system of accountability in the country along with increased tax collection.

He suggested JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to change his party s name to  Save Nawaz Sharif s Corruption Party  and said that the words Islam and Ulema should be removed from the party s name. He said that Akram Durrani should give lectures in universitites along with the PM s sons, Hassan and Hussain Nawaz, based on how to make money in a short period of time.
