At least eight militants were killed in airstrikes in two different areas of North Waziristan tribal region near Afghan border on Sunday.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the airstrikes were carried out on militant hideouts in Datta Khel and Shawal areas of the tribal belt.
Identities of the militants are yet to be known. Pakistan has intensified its efforts against militants in tribal areas and elsewhere after a deadly terrorist attack on Bacha Khan University in Charsadda that killed 21 people including students and staff members last week.
