Security forces on Friday have detained as many as seven suspected militants in operations ahead of Muharram.
At least eight Afghanistan nationals residing illegally have also been taken in custody from Gulberg area.
The police have started operations ahead of Muharram in different areas to maintain security and peace in the city. Personnel detained seven suspects in areas adjoining Bacha Khan Airport. Police lady constables searched houses in the operation.
The team had assistance of sniffer dogs.
