Colonel Tahir Azeem Sunday embraced martyrdom after unidentified gunmen opened fire on him in Hayatabad, outskirts of Peshawar.
Incident took place when Colonel Tahir was moving in his vehicle from a Mosque to his residence. The unknown assailants opened fire on his vehicle, leaving him critically injured.
Colonel Tahir was rushed to hospital where he breathed his last.
Security forces have put the security cordon in the area and kicked off search operation .
