Majority of the political leaders have termed Friday’s drone strike that killed TTP chief Hakimullah Mehsud as a conspiracy to sabotage peace talks with the militants.
Opposition leader Khursheed Shah said that the attack was made at a time when government officials were briefing about the dialogue process between government and Taliban, adding that the strike proved that Americans don t want peace talks to succeed. He said due to recent attack peace talk process will be delayed. Syed Khursheed Shah said the drone is down or not is decided by the government and military leadership.
JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman condemned the drone attack, it was an attempt to sabotage the negotiations. He said that whenever peace talk will began such event happed. Fazlur-Rehman said that do not lose patience in such situation.
JI Ameer Syed Munawar Hasan said that Negotiations are the only way for peace. United States does not want to start peace talk process with the Taliban. He said that drone strike would cause a delay in talks with the Taliban.
