Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said on Wednesday that government believe in free media in an enabling environment to flourish for playing a greater role towards nation building process.
PM Abbasi made these views while addressing a meeting of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority held in Islamabad.
The Prime Minister said the media’s role is critical towards overall development, strengthening institutions, ensuring good governance and promoting basic values of the society.
Minister of State for Information Maryam Aurangzeb, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Media Affairs Dr. Mussadiq Malik, and Chairman PEMRA Absar Alam were present at the meeting.
