Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Wednesday said Joint Investigation Team (JIT) petition in Supreme Court (SC) shows that the government institutions are collaborating to obstruct justice and save ‘a corrupt’ prime minister.

Posting on social networking website Twitter, Imran Khan said that he asked Nawaz Sharif to resign when JIT formed due to such kind of pressures.

Referring to the case pertaining to rigging in General Election 2013, PTI chief said that “when judicial commission formed on rigging we saw a similar pattern with Election Commission of Pakistan, fabricating documents to save Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). No impartial investigation possible this way.”

Earlier, PTI had decided to approach SC in support of Panamagate JIT days after its head informed the top court of difficulties being faced in the probe.

PTI is to maintain that PM Nawaz Sharif and finance minister Ishaq Dar are hindering the probe. The political party is to contest that the premier is running a movement against the JIT and the judiciary using his stature.
