Senate Chairman decided to resign from his post owing to constant absence of government ministers. A Senator from the ruling party Nisar Muhammad Khan also sided with Raza Rabbani and presented his resignation to him.

On the other hand, most opposition Senators agreed that the behaviour of federal ministers towards Upper House was disappointing.

Raza Rabbani had similar concerns and decided to resign from his post earlier today. He will not work as the Senate Chairman now as he earlier refused to sign official documents.

Raja Zafar ul Haq tried to improve the matters by meeting him. He was only successful in restoring Rabbani’s official protocol after which the Senator returned to his home in the government-provided vehicle.

The opposition Senators arrived at Rabbani’s residence in the evening where they expressed full support. Senator Shahi Saeed said that the behaviour of government towards Upper House was disappointing.
