  • Govt initiates steps to train manpower for CPEC projects

    The government has undertaken a number of steps to train manpower for China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) related projects.

    According to the government officials, National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) is currently providing training to the youth in 38 CPEC specific trades in 197 institutes across the country. NAVTTC is also planning to add Chinese language course in the next phase.

    Besides, 28 public and private universities are also offering Chinese language course.

    The officials said that some universities are in the process of setting up special centers with the help of Chinese Universities which will provide Chinese Instructors along with computer based instructions to train more manpower for CPEC.

    The amount of CPEC has been increased from $46 billion to $54 billion with the potential to increase more with the inclusion of future projects, Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal.
