Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has convened a meeting with Commander Resolute Support Mission (RSM) in Afghanistan, General John Nicholson of United States (US) force in General Headquarters (GHQ) on Monday.
Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that General Bajwa discussed security issue at Torkham border with the commander of US mission and stressed for a bilateral mechanism to regulate the movement and check.
According to ISPR, RSM commander acknowledged the need for cooperation at the border.
He said that Resolute Support Mission of US in Afghanistan could play a role in the issue, according to the media cell of Pakistan Army.
The army chief also appreciated role of US troops in Afghanistan to restore peace and mainstream the hardliners.
The US General was briefed over social and development projects underway in North Waziristan and repatriation of Independently Displaced Persons (IDP).
General Nicholson visited Miranshah and reviewed projects underway there in supervision of Pakistan Army.
