At least four people lost their lives while five houses were damaged in Indian firing and shelling across the Line of Control (LoC) today (Monday).

Indian forces targeted civilian settlements in Tarkandi, Dator, Lanjot, Dabsi Mohra, Nargal, Sakakas and Pilani areas of Nakyal sector at around 8:00am.

Reportedly, four people were martyred in Goi sector while five houses were damaged by Indian shelling in Dabsi Mohra.

The authorities also closed girls and boys degree colleges and declared emergency at the Tehsil Headquarter Hospital. Additional ambulances have also been deployed in the areas close to the LoC.

Pakistan Army is giving befitting response to the Indian firing.

Earlier in an interview with Radio Pakistan, Foreign Office Spokesperson Nafees Zakaria has said that India’s belligerent posturing is a danger to the peace of the region.

He said that United Nations, world powers and countries of the region should take notice of India’s belligerent behaviour.

Nafees Zakaria said that India has different motives behind the ceasefire violations. He said that cease fire violations are to cover the domestic and political issues facing the Indian government.

Nafees Zakaria said that Pakistan has foiled all the Indian attempts of espionage. He said the Indian drone has been shot dead as was done in the past and its attempt to intrude Pakistan’s territorial waters was also bounced back with force.
