  • Pakistan Army ready for conventional war, says Gen Raheel

    Pakistan Army has become the most battle-hardened military with an unprecedented level of successes in war against terror and is equally ready for conventional war, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif said on Saturday.

    He made these remarks while visiting Sulemanki sector of the Line of Control (LoC) where he spent the day with the personnel of army and Rangers including war veterans.

    While interacting with them, Gen Raheel said that Pakistan Army proudly carries its heritage and tradition of soldiering and chivalry.

    Taking inspiration from our war heroes and their spirit of sacrifice, Pakistan Army has always measured up to any challenge, he added.

    The army chief appreciated the highest state of morale of troops and best form of vigilance along the LoC, working boundary and international border.

    General Raheel also laid a floral wreath at the monument of late Major Shabbir Sharif. He paid rich tributes to the martyrs and soldiers for fighting bravely and rendering supreme sacrifices in defence of the motherland.

    Earlier on arrival at Sulemanki, the COAS was received by Corps Commander Lahore Lieutenant General Sadiq Ali, Lt-Gen Javaid Iqbal, Commander Bahawalpur Corps and DG Punjab Rangers Maj Gen Umer Farooq Burki.
