  • Operation to continue till terrorist hideouts completely dislodged: COAS

    ISPR on Tuesday has reported Chief Of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif’s visit to Northern Waziristan where he has met frontline soldiers, tribal elders of the area and has also admired the rehabilitation process of the IDPs by Pakistan Army.

    COAS has paid a visit to Northern Waziristan and spent the whole day with soldiers on the frontline and the elder leaders of the tribal areas, he was briefed about the returning process of the IDPs and development projects initiated by Pakistan Army.

    The COAS was briefed that outskirts of North Waziristan has been cleared which makes a total area of 650 square kilometers after which he expressed satisfaction over the operation.

    The Army Chief said that the operation will continue till all the terrorist hideouts are destroyed. He praised the soldiers who participated and accomplished the operation despite extreme weather conditions and operating through difficult gorges.

    He also appreciated the intelligence officers for completely destroying terrorist sleeper cells in the urban areas. Talking to the tribal elder leaders, Army Chief assured that Pakistan Army will not leave the area until complete rehabilitation of the IDPs and completion of development projects takes place.

    The tribal elders with the help of Pak Army, vowed to prevent militants enter their area again. The elders requested the Army Chief to establish quality educational institutions in the area.

    Army Chief also laid the foundation of Younis Khan Sports Complex in Miran Shah which will be completed by the Army engineers later. Army Chief also visited Miran Shah Bazaar and appreciated engineers’ projects.
