  • PM Nawaz, Gen Raheel Sharif, Imran Khan and others to visit APS Peshawar

    As the nation marks first anniversary of deadly attack on Army Public School Peshawar that killed 151 people including 144 children, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Army Chief General Raheel Sharif and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan are due to attend the central ceremony to pay tribute to the martyrs in Peshawar today.

    Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Chief Minister Pervez Khatak and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah will also be present in the ceremony.

    Diplomats of several countries, Pakistan People’s Party chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Awami National Party president Asfandyar Wali Khan have also been invited to the ceremony.

    On the occasion the political and military bigwigs will unveil a ‘Martyrs Monument’ installed in Army Public School which will be further followed by the ceremony will be held in the auditorium where terrorists massacred most of the children on the same day exactly a year ago.

    Meanwhile a public holiday is being observed in Peshawar on the account of first anniversary of the attack while a public holiday has been announced in Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan provinces.
