  • Compensation for damaged houses in FATA to begin shortly: NA told

    Minister for States and Frontier Regions Abdul Qadir Baloch on Tuesday informed the National Assembly that payment of compensation for damaged houses during the military operation in FATA will begin shortly.

    Responding to a call attention notice moved by Muhammad Jamaluddin, the Minister said the government has released five billion rupees for Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Unit set up in the FATA Secretariat for disbursement.

    He said it is the responsibility of FATA Secretariat, PDMA, Governor and armed forces to distribute compensation payment.

    The National Assembly also accepted an amendment in the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the National Assembly, 2007. According to the amendment, "Naat" will also be recited after the recitation of Holy Quran at the beginning of the proceedings of the House.

    The amendment was moved by retired Capt Muhammad Safdar and Syed Imran Ahmad Shah. Muhammad Safdar said it is great honour for the House to adopt this amendment in the Holy month of Rabiul Awwal.

    Members appreciated the addition of Naat-e-Rasool [SAW] in the proceedings of the House. They said we should act upon the teachings of Islam.
