Interior Ministry on Thursday has approved the hearing of Safoora carnage case in military court.

According to sources, the interior ministry dispatched a letter to the concerning military court, stating all the necessary details regarding case and information of the suspects.

At least 45 people of the Ismaili community, including 18 women, were killed in an armed attack on their bus near Safoora Goth on May 13.

Prime suspects Tahir Hussain Minhas, Saad Asad Rehman, Hafiz Nasir Ahmed, Azhar Ishrat, Sultan Qamar, Hussain Umar and Naeem Sajjid have been apprehended so far while the search of absconder Hafiz Umer aka Mirza Ghalib is underway.

The move came after pressure from the civil society to try these suspects in military courts, which were set up early this year to prosecute hardened criminals and terrorists.
