Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif claimed that 90 percent seats of winning independent candidates in Islamabad local government elections belong to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

Talking to media in London, Nawaz Sharif seemed a little fazed by a large number of independent candidates that succeeded in Islamabad LG elections. He said PML-N should not have left the arena unattended.

Responding a query regarding his brief one-on-one informal meeting with his Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the United Nations Climate Change Conference 2015 in Paris, PM Sharif said the Indian premier seeks better ties with Pakistan.

Everyone, he asserted, lauded the role of Pakistan in eradication of terrorism, adding Pakistan kick-started Operation Zarb-e-Azb of its own accord, not at anyone’s bidding.

“We are spearheading this landmark anti-terrorism operation by depending solely on our own resources. It is a conclusive action,” he pointed out.

He also said, “The energy crisis is gradually being tackled and Pakistan will have abundant electricity by 2018.”
