The government on Thursday challenged the suspension of the detention order for Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi in Supreme Court.
An anti-terrorism court had granted him bail on December 18 but he was detained under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order by the Islamabad administration.
Lakhvi had then challenged his detention in Islamabad High Court (IHC) after which a conditional bail was granted to him against surety bonds of Rs1 million.
Following his release from Adiala jail on Tuesday, he was again arrested by the capital police for alleged involvement in a kidnapping case. He was sent on a two-day physical remand.
Today, the government challenged the IHC’s decision to suspend his detention order.
