Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami(JI), Maulana Siraj-ul-Haq, on Sunday said that the country’s corrupt and cruel system is compelling people towards separatism.
“Due to the prevailing system based on cruelty, corruption and injustice, people of Sindh and Balochistan are moving towards separatism to find refuge… The nation must wake up to take a decision,” said Siraj-ul-Haq while addressing thousands of JI workers at Minar-e-Pakistan ground in Lahore.
Sunday was the last day of the JI’s three-day congregation titled “Islamic Pakistan, Prospering Pakistan” attended by thousands of people from across the country, including some 50,000 women.
He reiterated that his party would revive the spirit of the Movement of Pakistan to build the country an Islamic welfare state on the model of the state of Madinah.
The JI chief criticized the government and feudal system of the country and vowed to wage jihad against load-shedding, unemployment and inflation to get people rid of the problems.
Haq urged masses to back his party for the enforcement of Shariah laws in the country.
“JI believes in justice and equality for all and only the Islamic rule can ensure accountability and a corruption-free society,” he declared, hoping that Pakistan would one day become a stronghold of the Muslim world.
“Present political leadership has no vision and ability to deal with the crises. People want to get rid of this corrupt system, but how will it change if people continued to vote for the looters and thieves,” he questioned.
The-three day ijtema (congregation) begun on Friday. The JI chief presented a “Peoples Agenda” on the opening day, aiming at building Pakistan into a truly Islamic welfare state.
