Armed militants killed two policemen in Quetta's Multani Mohalla area on Friday.
The policemen were killed after armed assailants opened fire at them, police sources said, adding that the victims were hit in the heads with bullets. Another policeman was seriously injured during the firing.
The armed assailants escaped unhurt from the spot.
The bodies were taken to Civil Hospital Quetta for a post-mortem.
Police and Frontier Corps personnel reached the spot and began an investigation into what police sources believe is an act of targeted killing. There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
The incident comes just a few days after the killing of two policemen in Quetta's Sariab road area.
Sariab road is considered to be one of the sensitive areas of Quetta. Militants have been targeting security forces in the area for almost a decade.
