At least one engineer was killed when militants attacked Jiwani aiport, in Balochistan's Gwadar district on Sunday.
Police sources told unknown miscreants opened fire at the airport and killed electronics superintendent identified as Khalilullah during the attack. At least six miscreants riding motorcycles attacked were involved in the attack on Jiwani airport, police said.
The assailants also kidnapped electronics engineer Mehmudullah from the airport.
According to sources, security was not tight in and around the airport at the time of attack. The assailants sped away on their motorcycles after the attack. Police and personnel of other law enforcement agencies reached the site and started investigation into the incident.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack. In the past, militants attacked the Pasni Radar Station in the region.
