The Supreme Court Monday ordered re-election in Balochistan Assembly Constituency PB-50 Qila Abdullah.

According to the details, a hearing was held in the Supreme Court on the appeal of Awami National Party (ANP) leader Zamrad Khan, the court ordered re-polling in the constituency with the consent of the parties.

Lawyer Jamat-e-Ulema Islami (JUI) told the court that repolling was ordered only at the polling stations where his client was successful, where Zamard Khan won, there is a discrepancy in form 45 and 47. His client also took an oath, however the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) suspended the notification.

Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa remarked that don't get into so much detail that the tribunal has already been formed and file the appeal there. The court cannot sit and hear 400 election cases, if the parties agree, polling can be conducted again in the entire constituency.

Later, with the consent of the parties, the Supreme Court annulled the election in PB-50 Qila Abdullah and ordered re-election in the constituency.

It is pertinent to note that the victory of Zamard Khan was challenged by JUI's Malik Nawaz in the Election Commission. The ECP ordered re-voting at six polling stations. Zamard Khan himself brought the matter to the Supreme Court.
