Inspector Ijaz Chaudhry allegedly died in Benazir Bhutto Hospital after he was shot in the leg. A case developed when late customs official’s wife pleaded in a court that he was murdered to ‘protect’ Ali in a money laundering case.

Ali was arrested in March 2015 at an airport in Islamabad as she tried to smuggle $506,800 in cash to United Arab Emirates.

The slain customs official was in-charge to seize the cash and submit the money in the State Bank.

According to late inspector’s wife, her husband was killed for refusing to succumb to the pressure.

The fashion model has been in a rough struggle with the federation and the customs court for over a year over her name being included in the Exit Control List on and off.

She was indicted in the case in November last year and the case is still under hearing but she was allowed to leave the country by the Supreme Court this year however, she had to turn back from the airport as she was not permitted to board.
