    Mobile operators have demanded from federal government to relax already exisitng 37pc taxes instead of imposing new ones on consumers ahead of budget for next fiscal year.

    A telecom operator, during media briefing, told that mobile operators have urged government to slash withholding tax,

    complete uplifting of GST/FED on internet data packages, and relaxation of taxes on import of mobile devices.

    In the previous fiscal year, telecom sector has submitted Rs158 billion in national exchequer while earned a revenue of Rs455 billion.

    During the same period, flourishing telecom sector received Rs75 billions of investment which included Rs40 billions of foreign direct investment.
