Gen Bipin backs Modi's decision of cancelling talks with Pakistan Gen Bipin backs Modi's decision of cancelling talks with Pakistan

Just one day after making headlines, Indian Army Chief Gen Bipin has come with another irresponsible statement as he backed Modi-led BJP govt’s decision of declining Pakistan’s offer to initiate dialogue.

Gen Bipin once again rehashed the old mantra that terrorism and talks can’t go hand in hand.

“The decision of Modi’s govt is legitimate. You [read Pakistan] must take such an initiative which coerces us [read India] into contemplating that terrorism is not being sponsored”, Indian army chief was quoted as saying.

He went on to say that current atmosphere isn’t suitable for Pak-India dialogue.

Earlier Saturday, Gen Bipin had threatened to take limited military action against Pakistan Army saying it is time to give it back to them in the same leaving aside the kind of barbarism they had resorted to.

According to Indian media reports, Rawat while making hollow claims said that it is important for the neighbouring country to also feel the pain and it needs to understand at the same time that it needs to curb the terrorism menace.

He continued saying that the government’s policy was clear and concise as it emphasised on terror and talks cannot go hand in hand.

The Indian army chief said that Rawat added that India will have to respond to Pakistan in their own language without resorting to barbarism.

    Pakistan responds

Responding to Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat’s reckless remarks of teaching Pakistan a lesson, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major Gen Asif Ghafoor on Saturday stated Indian army has been indulged in their country’s politics in the wake of corruption scandals whereas he vehemently warned Indian civilian and military’s top brass against putting burden of their domestic issues on ‘Pakistan’s shoulders’.

Reiterating that Pakistan’s desire for peace should not be mistaken for weakness, ISPR DG stated Pakistan is ready to give befitting reply to any misadventure while warning India of stern military repercussions. He urged Indian army chief to abstain from deteriorating peace situation.

He said, “Indian govt is facing graft scandals at home. And in bid to divert attention from their domestic issues, Indian army is hurling irresponsible statements of war”.

Apprising that Pakistan had been premeditatedly made target of terror menace, ISPR DG vowed not to let anybody—be it Indian army—derail the peace situation in the region.

Gen Ghafoor added that India had earlier staged drama of surgical strike whereas they [read Indian army] failed miserably in presenting the evidence for the same in their parliament.

“We will not let nation down if anybody tries to test our patience”, stated ISPR DG while adding that Indian army has been coerced into adopting such reckless narrative due to economic downturn and huge corruption scandals shrouding Modi-led BJP’s govt.

Adding that Indian govt has utterly failed to calmp down indigenous struggle of Kashmiris, ISPR DG stated that third generation of the residents of occupied valley is tendering unrivalled sacrifices against Indian regime.
