    Russia: Peace Talks With Afghanistan Postpones Russia: Peace Talks With Afghanistan Postpones

    International peace talks on Afghanistan, planned to held on September 4 in Moscow, have been postponed. Afghan President, Ashraf Ghani said that peace talks should be Afghan owned and led.

    According to Afghanistan, international peace talks on Afghanistan have been postponed indefinitely,  following a phone conversation between Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Afghan leader Ashraf Ghani.

    It is said that, President Ghani insists the peace talks should be Afghan owned and led, Russia agrees the peace process should be under the auspices of the Afghans and it is ready to cooperate.

    Russian Foreign Minister also confirmed in a statement that the talks have been postponed. Russia announced peace talks on Afghanistan in Moscow, on September 4.

    Pakistan, Afghanistan, India and Taliban were invited in the peace conference, in which Taliban agreed to attend. However, US has excused to participate.
