Indian billionaire tycoon Gautam Adani briefly became the world’s second richest man, on Friday replacing Bernard Arnault on the Forbes list.

According to international media, he was listed in second position on Forbes’ Real-Time billionaire rankings after his net worth rose to $155.7 billion. However, he later slipped back to third position with $152.6 billion after his country’s stocks went down.

During the day, Adani’s wealth had shot up to $155.7 billion but as most of the group’s stocks ended the day in red, he slipped back to the third position with a net worth of $152.6 billion.

Adani, however, remains ahead of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, who is now at the fourth spot, with a total worth of $149.7 billion.

Forbes’ Real-Time Billionaires rankings track the daily ups and downs of the world’s richest people. The wealth-tracking platform provides ongoing updates on the net worth and ranking of each individual confirmed by Forbes to be a billionaire. The value of individuals’ public holdings is updated every 5 minutes when respective stock markets are open (there will be a 15-minute delay for stock prices).

At the number 1 slot is Tesla’s Elon Musk with a net worth of $ 273.5 billion. Another Indian on the list is Reliance Industries’ Mukesh Ambani who is at the number 8 spot with $92.3 billion to his name.

Adani became the first Asian to reach the top three slots when in August this year he surpassed Louis Vuitton head Arnault for a brief period of time.
