    Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan Issues Decree Officially Establishing Country's Space Agency File Photo

    Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has issued a decree formally establishing the country's space agency, which will be responsible for the development of Turkey's space program.

    "In accordance with the decision of the Turkish presidential office, the Turkish space agency is established," the decree, published in the country's official journal, T. C.

    Resmi Gazete, said.

    According to the decree, the newly created body will have its own budget and will be fully autonomous in dealing with its managerial and financial issues.

    The agency will be charged with developing and implementing Turkey's space program and will be also responsible for expanding the country's aerospace industry and negotiating and signing relevant agreements on behalf of the state.
