The upcoming flagship phone Sony will not have the traditional headphone jack, according to a recent report.

TechRadar reported that there will be no headphone jack in Sony Xperia XZ Premium 2 as the company submitted its design in Federal Communications Commission with such details. The diagram in the documents confirmed that the device will not have any headphone jack.

Moreover, rather than the ordinary Android USB port, the Xperia device will have USB-C port for headphone and USB connectivity. Users will be able to charge their phones, listen to music and transfer files to PC using the same Type-C port.

FCC ID label suggests that Sony will launch its first smartphone without a headphone jack.

Sony Xperia XZ Premium 2 is expected to be launched in February. The Sony Xperia XZ Premium was launched last year around this time at MWC 2017.

Some other specs of the upcoming Xperia phone hint that it will have a display of 5.7 inches with overall dimensions of 152.79 x 72.42mm. There will be smaller bezels, different from the current Sony Xperia handsets available in the market.

The model will compete with Samsung Galaxy S9.
