FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola finished in Moscow after a Tour across Russia and the globe just a few days before the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia kicks off at Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium.

The Tour was a major milestone on the road to Russia 2018. During the Russian and international legs, the Trophy travelled more than 172,000 km and visited 91 cities in 51 countries.

It was a rare opportunity to see the Original Trophy up close, with more than 800,000 fans in Russia and worldwide making the most of this unique opportunity to come close to the ultimate prize in football, and more than 570,000 marking the occasion by having their photography taken with the Trophy.

Since 2006, every new edition of the FIFA World Cup has brought with it the promise of a new Trophy Tour travelling and touching down in new cities and meeting new fans. Ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia, FIFA and long-term partner Coca-Cola devised the longest-ever route across the host country in the project’s history especially for Russia.

“After a long journey, the fourth edition of the Trophy Tour concluded in Russia’s capital Moscow, the same city where the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and FIFA President Gianni Infantino launched this remarkable tour almost nine months ago at Luzhniki Stadium,” said FIFA Chief Commercial Officer Philippe Le Floc’h.

“Coca-Cola and FIFA provided more than 800,000 people in Russia and 50 other countries around the globe with the unique opportunity to have their photo taken with the FIFA World Cup Original Trophy. The Trophy Tour has been a great platform to get the entire world and the host country excited for the 2018 FIFA World Cup that kicks off in less than one week. Let the countdown begin!”

Over the past ten months, FIFA Legends, 2018 FIFA World Cup ambassadors and prominent figures around the world have provided valuable support with the organisation of the tour.

“We are proud to be able to bring unforgettable emotions to hundreds of thousands football fans and make them feel part of the 2018 FIFA World Cup which is about to start in a few days. Together with the Original Trophy we have traveled all around Russia – from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok – and everywhere we saw the highest level of readiness for the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

"We hope that football lovers coming to Russia from all over the world will appreciate it as well," said the General Manager of 2018 FIFA World Cup™ Project of the Coca-Cola System in Russia Mickael Vinet.
