Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted another heatwave in the metropolitan city today.

According to Met office, mercury can hit 40-42 degree Celsius on Thursday while humidity level is expected to be around 70%-80%.

According to an advisory issued by the Met office, while the sea breeze is predicted to remain cut off, a sandstorm with a touch of light rain is expected in Karachi today.

Because of the impending heatwave, public hospitals in Karachi have been put on alert and set up special wards for heatstroke patients. The PDMA has urged people to stay inside and not engage in activities in the sun.
