A gun attack in a resturaunt in Lyari area on Tuesday has left two killed and three wounded including women.
Resuce teams shifted the bodies and the injured to a hospital. According to the details, unidentified persons opened fire at Ali Hotel in Lyari in what appeared to be a terror attack, claiming lives of two locals namely Khan Muhammad and Laik Khan.
Rubina, Bobby and Fida Hussain were injured in the attack who were treated in a nearby hospital.
Police collected evidence at the site after learning about the attack while statements of witnessed were recorded as well. However, the law enforcers have not traced the attacker until the filing of this report.
Police are yet to confirm if the attack was a terror incident or a result of a clash among the locals.
Earlier in the day today, Sindh chief minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah presided over a meeting of the apex committee and directed Pakistan Rangers deployed in Sindh and police to ramp up targeted operation against street crime.
While briefing the committee, Rangers Director General (DG) shared statistics regarding the operation according to which troops are deployed at at least 460 stations across Karachi, capital of Sindh. In 11,124 operations during last three years, Pakistan Rangers nabbed thousands of murderers of which 2,282 have confessed to their crime, he told.
CPLC report was also presented to the apex committee today. According to the report, 30,000 Karachiites were mugged of their mobile phones, 23,000 were robbed of motorcycles, and at least 10,000 of the city s population lost their cars during last ten months.
