    Police baton charged protesters heading towards the residence of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto and dispersed them by firing tear gas and water cannon.

    According to reports, Sindh’s wheat farmers decided to demonstrate outside the Bilawal House in order to bring the matters into notice. They had arrived at Boat Basin when the move was not welcomed by the local authorities who ordered the law enforcement force to disperse the protesters.

    The police contingent reacted furiously after the protesters threw stones at them. Several farmers were roughed up before being arrested.

    A number of farmers were arrested by the police after baton charge at Bilawal Chowrangi. The arrested farmers were taken into custody in the Boat Basin police station. Police called Boat Basin a red zone and issued high alert.

    The policemen used water cannons and baton charge to disband the protesters.
