Social activist Alamgir Khan led protesters to demonstrate over poor quality education outside the Karachi Press Club on Sunday.

The police were able to disperse the mob of protesters after using a water cannon and later tear gassing them after they tried to make way toward the governor house.

The protesters had insisted on speaking to the Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair.

At least ten protesters were taken into police custody for attempting to enter the red zone, the police said. A case was registered against them in the Artillery Maidan Police Station.

The case against Khan and unknown protesters includes violation of the red zone and pelting stones at the police, SP Saddar Tauqeer Nazim said.
