  • KU administration concerned over alleged trend of extremism in students

    The administration of University of Karachi has decided to permanently take services of security departments over alleged trend of extremism in student.

    KU Vice Chancellor Prof Mohammad Ajmal Khan vowed to prepare strategy in collaboration with the security institutions. He said that there are many options available for fake mark sheets which need to be unveiled.

    On the other hand, Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani wrote a letter to university’s VC, stating that the news regarding sharing students’ record to intelligence agencies will create unrest among them.

    Rabbani said that there is a need of basic amendments in the curriculum and also directed to act on the Senate resolution regarding restoration of student unions.

    He also urged the management to take relevant action in this regard.

    A meeting of university syndicate and academic council members was also held in which concerns were expressed over news about involvement of KU student in an attack on Khwaja Izharul Hasan, opposition leader in the Sindh Assembly on Eid.

    Earlier, security officers had recovered more than 12 laptops and 20 USBs from the house of Abdul Kareem, who fled during raid in Gulzar-e-Hijri. The officers said that the process of data decoding and forensic of the record will be carried out.
