Unidentified gunmen on two motorcycles targeted MQM Pakistan leader Khawaja Izharul Hassan early Saturday morning in Karachi s Buffer Zone area.
MQM leader Faisal Sabzwari said the suspects opened indiscriminate fire as Hassan left mosque after offering Eid-ul-Azha prayer. He said the attackers were in police uniform.

Khawaja Izharul Hassan escaped unhurt, however, three of his guards took bullet injuries, while one other was killed in the attack. A child was also killed in the cross-fire.
Police said one of the assailants was also killed in retaliatory firing.
MQM Pakistan chief Farooq Sattar strongly condemned the incident. He said Khawaja Izhar had received death threats 15 days ago. He was also receiving threats from London.
PTI’s Deputy Secretary General Imran Ismail also condemned assassination attempt on Izharul Hassan. He suspected MQM London leaderships’ involvement in the incident.
