The Sindh Home Department issued a notification, announcing a ban on pillion riding in Karachi from 6am today (Saturday) till October 13.
The ban is being imposed keeping in view the law and order situation during Muharram-ul-Harram.
The ban will not be applicable to women, people with disabilities, elderly people, journalists and children under the age of 12.
On the other hand Rangers have been put on high alert to maintain law and order situation in the city.
The citizens have been advised to carry CNIC and their driving license with them.
