A teenage son of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) senior leader Qamar Zaman Kaira has passed away in a road accident on Friday, a party spokesperson said.
According to the PPP spokesperson, Kaira's son Usama Qamar died in the traffic accident, which took place near his hometown Lalamusa.
Usama was a student at the Government College Lahore.
Kaira, who is the president of the party's Punjab chapter, was at a press conference after attending a meeting of senior PPP leaders when he received the tragic news.
The party spokesperson said that Kaira immediately departed for his hometown after hearing about the accident.
In a message released by the spokesperson, PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari expressed their grief over Usama Qamar's untimely death and offered their condolences to the PPP leader and his family.
