    Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan says the government will assist media in overcoming the challenges and crises it is facing.

    Addressing media in Lahore on Monday afternoon, she said government recognizes the fourth pillar status of media and its key role in strengthening the democracy.

    Special Assistant to Prime Minister said she has come to Punjab with a message of the Prime Minister to reduce communication gap between government and media.

    She said the provincial information department has been directed to clear the pending bills of media organizations.

    She said the government has decided to issue interim wage board award and after consultations with stakeholders, it will be converted into permanent wage board award.

    Replying to a question, Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said the way all members of Punjab Assembly have expressed confidence on leadership of Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, it should stop the speculations that were being made by various circles in recent weeks.
