  • Paragon Scandal: AC Extends Saad, Salman Rafique’s Remand Till April 18

    Accountability Court on Thursday has extended the remand of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Khawaja Saad Rafique and his brother Khawaja Salman Rafique for another 14 days in connection the ongoing probe in Paragon Housing Scheme scandal case.

    As per details, Accountability Court’s judge Justice Najam-ul-Hassan heard a case pertaining to the ongoing probe in the Paragon Housing Scheme Scandal in which Khawaja Saad Rafique and his brother Khawaja Salman Rafique produced before the court.

    The court in its remarks asked the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) lawyer that what the update on the case is? To which, the anti-graft body’s lawyer told the court that it is still underway and in the final phase.

    At this, the court in its remarks said that the anti-graft body cannot hold anyone for such a long period without any concrete evidence.

    To this, the anti-graft body’s lawyer told the court that a reference will be sent to the NAB headquarters for immediate approval.

    The court then extended the remand of the Khawaja brothers for another 14 days and adjourned the case’s hearing till April 18.

    Earlier today, PML-N leaders Khawaja Saad Rafique and his brother Khawaja Salman Rafique were produced before Accountability Court Lahore in Paragon Housing Scheme scandal case.

    According to details, AC Judge Najmul Hasan Bukhari is hearing the case with the under-arrest Khawaja brothers in attendance at the hearing session.

    On this occasion, strict security measures have been taken around the court premises. Roads leading to the court have been blocked by containers and steel-wired fences.

    PML-N supporters have gathered in huge numbers outside the court to lend support to both party leaders.
