    Four people of the same family were killed while two others were injured in a horrendous traffic accident on the Indus Highway of Dera Ghazi Khan on preceding Tuesday night.

    According to District officer Rescue 1122 Dr. Natiq Hayat, a head-on collision between a car and a speeding truck left four people, of the same family, dead. They were identified as two-year-old Abdullah, his mother Maria, and Habibullah and Rana Ayaz Ahmed.Rana Ayaz, who was killed in the accident was also a reporter for a private channel.

    Rescue sources claim that the main cause of the accident was the speeding truck coming in from the wrong direction and also severe fog on the highway.Another woman, Nazia, who was also in the car, was injured and promptly shifted to the Teaching Hospital DG Khan after rescue teams arrived on the site.

    The bodies, too, were moved to the Teaching Hospital DG Khan, rescue officials said.

    According to police, however, initial information suggests that the truck driver had fled and a search for him was subsequently underway.
