At least 4 person was killed and 20 others were injured Wednesday in an explosion in the Raiwind area of Lahore, police said.
The explosion took place close to a police checkpost, near the vehicle of a deputy superintendent of police.
Rescue officials said the injured were being shifted to the hospital.
According to police sources, the explosion appeared to be a targeted attack on law enforcement personnel.
Police officials added that it was unclear if the blast was of a planted device or if it was a suicide attack. A motorcycle near the blast site had been completely destroyed.
