Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan on Sunday rebuffed former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s announcement to start a campaign against the judiciary, saying that coward leader can never start a movement.

“Nawaz Sharif said he was would start a movement against Pakistan’s judiciary. A coward person can never made a decision,” he said addressing a political gathering in Okara.

The PTI chairman said that Sharif never started a movement when he was overthrown by General Musharraf and instead chose to go to exile in Saudi Arabia. “When Musharraf imprisoned Nawaz, he chose to strike a deal and go abroad,” he said. “When we come (to power) Nawaz Sharif will again be sent abroad.”

He also refuted comparison with the former premier saying that he has never been power and cannot misuse authority or indulge in corruption. He said his party has government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since last four years but he never favoured anyone or set up private businesses.

“Nawaz Sharif should go to KPK and ask where is Imran Khan’s factory. Nawaz Sharif had one factory but after twelve years in power, he had over thirty factories.”

He said he answered all questions in the Supreme Court and submitted thirty documents, while Nawaz only submitted one documents over a multi-billion corruption case. “Nawaz gave only one document and that a bogus Qatari letter,” he said.

“Nawaz Sharif will start his movement against whom. He has the federal government, and a puppet prime minister,” he said adding that Nawaz always wanted a subservient judiciary which was lenienet towards him since the last thirty years and camoflagued his crimes.

“Nawaz Sharif is attacking the judiciary to save his corruption,” he said adding that their attitude would be different if the verdict was in their favour. He said that nations are destroyed when institutions are weakened, and nations prospers due to strong institutions and spending on education.

Strongly rebuking PML-N leaders slandering the superior judiciary, he said that it is time they are also held accountable. He also criticised federal minister Khawaja Saad Rafique asking how he became a billionaire with just claiming to win the prize bond jackpot, and foreign minister Khawaja Asif for receiving salary as a legal advisor from UAE-based firm.

Turning towards Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif, he said that he cannot stay safe from the Hudaibiya case as they will present further new evidence to the National Accountability Bureau. “Shahbaz Sharif stashed billions out of the country, and placed his own umpire in NAB.”

However, he said that Shahbaz Sharif should not be disqualified before the election, so there can be competition. “I want to face Shahbaz Sharif in the next general elections.”

He also chided incumbent prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi for visiting his predecessor Nawaz Sharif in London on taxpayer’s money, and he should be held accountable for allowing Finance Minister Ishaq Dar to go abroad, and assisting in the corruption of Sharif family.

He said that Abbasi should call for snap polls if he believes that the PML-N will win the next general elections. “I’m pretty sure Khaqan Abbasi also made money and Sharif know it. That’s why he can’t stand up to the Sharifs.” He said that Nawaz Sharif and Ishaq Dar’s children have become billionaires on the taxpayer’s money and they are strongly concerned about it.

He hailed Jehangir Tareen, who was disqualified by the Supreme Court and also stepped down as PTI Secretary general, saying that he was disqualified on a minor technicality and was not involved in any irregularities.

He also paid tribute for PTI founding member Saloni Bukhari who passed away recently saying she supported him in tough times, and also help him when he was heckled by activists of Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba in the Punjab University during emergency declaration in 2007.

He decried the injustice in the Model Town incident saying that Shahbaz Sharif and Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah ordered to fire at innocent citizens. “The nation has understood Shahbaz Sharif. We will fight you in the next election.”
