    Sial Sharif Pir Hameedud Din Sialvi has parted ways Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Wednesday and announced to lead a rally on December 10 in Faisalabad reiterating his demand for Punjab law minister Rana Sanaullah to resign.

    Announcement of the cleric has come in days after spokesperson of Punjab government Zaeem Qadri called on Sialvi at his residence and attempted to mediate between the government and the group that has take offence of law minister’s statement delivered earlier.

    Statement of the law minister was about followers of one of the sects of Islam.

    Earlier last week, a group of religious workers led by Dr Ashraf Asif Jalali had staged a sit-in protest outside Punjab Assembly demanding resignation of Sanaullah however, they signed an agreement with the government and ended the agitation that had went on for at least a week.

    During the agitation, Punjab government, represented by Zaeem Qadri had offered the cleric to present Rana Sanaullah before him for an explanation of his statement.

    The agreement signed between Dr Jalali-led group and the government also talked about Sanaullah’s explanation of his statement.

    Punjab chief minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif had also told Sialvi to appear before him in coming days.
