Civil-military partnership helped CPEC takeoff, says Shehbaz Civil-military partnership helped CPEC takeoff, says Shehbaz

Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif said on Sunday that civil-military partnership helped China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) takeoff.

Shehbaz, who was speaking to media after a visit to a children’s’ hospital in Lahore, also remarked that success of CPEC is making India cringe.

“All the allegations against me were proven to be false,” he said. “This is a defeat of those who opposed CPEC.”

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members are trying to stop me from serving the nation, he claimed at the occasion.

During the visit to the hospital, he announced that additional 600 beds have been added in the children hospital. “With this new addition, this hospital has become the biggest hospital for children in the country.”

The hospital also conducts heart surgery of children, he said, adding “Pakistan was made to serve the poor.”

While addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Shehbaz lashed out at a private TV channel over allegations of corruption and said that evidence should be provided by those leveling the allegations.

Shehbaz said a media channel has spread false information regarding the Multan metro bus project and he will clear all misunderstandings.

He also said if evidence exists, it should be presented in the next 48 hours and if there is no truth to the allegations, then those indulging in spreading false information should be held accountable.
