Supreme Court on Thursday summoned Khyber Pakntunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak in clean drinking water case.

The bench headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar heard the case in SC Peshawar registry.

The CJP remarked that KP province is providing dirty water to the people. He asked, “What is the position of availability of clean water in the province? Where is the waste being dumped?”

The Chief Secretary replied that the waste is being thrown in the rivers.

In a case pertaining to hospital’s waste material, the CJP inquired, “How much waste is produced by the hospitals? How many machines are present to gather the waste and how much is being dumped? Do you have any information? We have to work for the betterment.”

Additional DG health said that they do not have any data.

“We had heard that good governance exist in KP. What is being done to dump the waste? We want all the data till 5pm,” remarked the CJP.
